The course is to help participants get familiarized with special terms relating to container ships, container type index, crane handling, bays, rows and tiers, lashing gear and securing devices, and personal safety on a container ship. The course covers the following topics:
- Use relevant Maritime English terms and phrases relating to daily operation on Container Ships
- Identify the location of containers in stowage
- Use correct names of securing devices and lashing gears for cargo operation
- Communicate with shipmates regarding personal safety
